Post-Stack Vs Bandwidth Extension

The application in pre-stack data has the effect of normalization of the wavelet through the gather. Generating gathers capable of supporting high resolution speed analysis and AVO analysis.

The Bandwidth Extension process is a trace-by-trace process that can be applied to post-stack seismic, pre-stack, partial pre-stack or gathers level.

 

Bandwidth Extension + CWT.

Bandwidth Extension uses the Continuous Ripple Transform (CWT), to decompose the seismic trace into its respective Amplitude and Phase components, in time and frequency.

Continuous Wavelet Transform

Using the available bandwidth (fundamental frequencies) in the seismic, the phase and amplitude spectra of the harmonics (to extend the upper end of the spectrum) and the sub-harmonics (to extend the lower end) are calculated.

 

Better Resolution, Better Image

The application of this service in post-stack reflection seismic data improves the resolution for thin layers associated with high frequencies, coinage and subtle failures.
